Walking into a new class for the first time can feel like the hardest part — so let me take the mystery out of it.
You’ll arrive, I’ll say hello, and we’ll have a quick chat about anything I should know: an old injury, a stiff hip, a recent operation, or simply that you haven’t moved much in a while. None of it is a problem. It just helps me look after you properly.
Most of the class happens at the barre, which is there for balance and support rather than anything balletic. We work through small, controlled movements set to music, using light hand weights, a Pilates ball or a resistance band. In the longer classes we finish on the mat with some core work.
Wear something comfortable you can move in, and bring grippy socks or come barefoot. A water bottle is a good idea. Everything else — mats, weights, bands — is here waiting for you.
The thing I’d most like you to know is that nobody is watching you. Every exercise can be made gentler or stronger, and I’ll offer options as we go. You choose what your body wants that day.
Come as you are. That’s genuinely the whole idea.
