Warm & welcoming
You're a person before you're a participant. Expect to be greeted by name, not processed through a class.
Physiotherapist, Pilates and barre teacher, and the person who'll be alongside you in every class.
I started Barreflies to offer something the fitness world often misses: expert, genuinely personal movement, in a space with no pressure to perform. Here's a little about how I got here — and how I teach.
In sixteen years of teaching, my belief has only grown simpler: good movement is the best self-care there is — and it should be shaped around you.

I'm a Chartered Physiotherapist and Level 3 Certified Pilates Instructor based in Brighton, and I run Barreflies — a hybrid space where clinical physiotherapy meets Pilates, barre and myofascial training that combines structural anatomy and sensory awareness.
My approach is shaped by both my education and years on the studio floor. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton, and earlier I studied English Literature at the University of Sussex — which probably explains why I love helping clients understand the story behind their pain, not just the symptoms.
Whether you're rehabilitating from an injury, managing recurring niggles, or simply wanting to move better, I focus on adaptable coaching and personalised progression — so you can train with confidence in a group setting or in a 1:1 session. Clients often say my sessions are fun and energising, but my priority is always smart movement that supports long-term resilience.
When I'm not teaching or treating, you'll usually find me spending time with my kids, enjoying the food stalls at the Open Market, or splashing in the water at the Level.
Five things I hold to in every class, whoever's in the room — plus the one that ties them all together.
You're a person before you're a participant. Expect to be greeted by name, not processed through a class.
Clinically grounded and precise — explained in plain language, never jargon for its own sake.
Every age, ability, shape and goal is genuinely welcome here. I honour the full spectrum of real bodies.
No hype, no pressure, no "push harder" energy. Just steady, intelligent movement that respects how you feel.
I'd rather we explore what your body can do than chase a perfect rep. Curiosity beats performance, every time.
Above all, classes adapt to the person in front of me — your body, your history, your goals — not the average.
No two bodies, histories or goals are the same, so my teaching flexes around you rather than asking you to fit a mould — whether that's preventing injury, building strength through pregnancy, navigating midlife changes, or simply keeping up with energetic grandchildren.
You'll find playfulness and genuine expertise in equal measure, and absolutely no pressure to perform. We explore what your body can do, gently and intelligently — and you leave feeling stronger, more capable and more at home in yourself.
